Plate Bending of 75mm thick P355NL1 Plate
P355NL1 to EN10028-3 is a pressure vessel steel that is ideal for low temperatures as it has good crack resistance. Most plates from stock are used to fabricate pressure vessels, welded boilers, heat exchangers and reactors according to the ASME code – normally by customers with an ASME U or U2 Stamp
We carry a large stock of P355NL1 plates with it testing at -50oC to 16J but often customers prefer the P355NL2 variant which is again tested to -50oC but has the better 27J value.
Plates are available from 6 – 200 mm thick with some even thicker P355NL1 plates available to customers building heavy reactors.
P355NL1 Stock Sizes
We have a good stock of wide plates – 3m and 3.5m to assist customer building large vessels to reduce the number of welds required. This helps reduce both cost and production time. However the wider plates are slower to ship due to the constraints of containers. The maximum width in these is 2.2m wide.
There are also thinner plates available at 1.5m, 2m, 2055 mm and 2.5m. Plate lengths are available up to 14m. Most thicknesses are available ex-stock up to 12m, though for the thicker plates this slowly reduces to 6m or 4m for the very thickest and heaviest P355NL1 plates.
Most pates come with an EN10204 3.2 mill certificate, though we have many with 3.1 certification as well. Plates are normally rolled in Germany, the thicker ones certainly as they come from Dillinger Hutte, but will always be from Western Europe unless explicitly stated in our offer.
For customers in Europe P355NL1 plate can be ordered direct from Dillinger or from stock from AncoferWaldram. The EN 10028-2 standard can be purchased from the BSI
