Oakley Steel supplies
carbon steel boiler plates for use where Sulphide Stress Cracking (SSC) is an issue. The incidence of SSC can be limited by setting
a maximum limit on the hardness of plates.
The NACE section of website is divided into 6 pages. This page which is the NACE home page. There is a general page which covers SSC and prevention and mitigation strategies. The grades and equivalents page lists the grades that we supply that can be hardness tested (though this is not exclusive) whilst the characteristicspage describes the hardness requirements for carbon steel plate in a sulphide stress cracking environment.
On the test certificate page we show details of a summary sample test certificate and then provide details of the plate sizes and thicknesses that we are able to offer on the dimensions page.
