ASTM A516 steel plate is one of the key plates for the manufacturing and fabricating boilers and pressure vessels. ASTM A516 is a versatile pressure vessel steel that has the physical and chemical characteristics that allow it to be easily worked and used in a wide range of pressure applications.
ASTM A516 steel is typically used in safety critical applications in the oile and gas and process industries. The price of the steel is directly related to its quality - and that in turn relates to lower operating costs and a reduced risk in operating and maintaining plant.
Oakley Steel ASTM A516 is all of European origin and reaches a very high level of quality to enable it to meet the most demanding of pressure applications. Our steel is in boilers, pressure vessels and skids that are now in operation in most of the oil and gas producing countries of the world.
Our A / SA516 boiler plate comes from the
mill in a number of standard sizes. Standard lengths are 6, 12 and 14m, whilst
standard widths are 2m, 3m, 4m and 2055mm. We have very limited availability of
the 14m and 4m dimensions. Thicknesses range from 4 – 200mm with 1mm increments
up to 40mm and 5mm or more beyond 40mm.
ASTM A516 plates are generally sold as the standard sizes below. If you have a special size requirement please ask as depending on stock availability we may be able to offer more flexibility; for example, by cutting them to your requirements. Cutting is usually done if the off cuts are purchased as well, however for orders of more than thirty metric tonnes the off cuts do not need to be purchased.
