We stock a wide range of offshore steel plate for use in offshore application such as platforms, FPSOs and other mobile and fixed offshore structures. Most offshore steel is delivered to customers in Singapore, Batam, Rayong and Vung Tau. Our focus is on the following offshore steel grades

Who buys offshore steel plate from us?

Our main customers are based in the key offshore centres in SE Asia. They usually have origin restrictions on the steel and often require delivery from a G7 mill, or have Dillinger Hutte on their approved list. The technical specifications are normally quite strict with many mills being excluded because of the right chemical analysis required.

Finally there are a group of customers who always buy offshore plate from Dillinger Hutte, because, as one manager put it, “I like to sleep well at night”. Steel like many other critical components has an intangible quality and Dillinger’s reputation for delivery high performing reliable plate strips out risk throughout the equipment’s life cycle.

Heavy Offshore Steel Plate for Offshore Structures

Most of our offshore plates are to EN 10225 (as opposed to API) and are normally certified by either Lloyd’s Register or Det Norske Veritas (DNV). Given their experience in the North Sea, one of the harshest offshore production environments (DNV has also been involved in Sakhalin if you want to push the envelope) this provides the end users with a lot of confidence Plates are all to EN 10204 3.2 (Independent 3rd party inspection) and if you require them cut or profiled we also have authority from Lloyds to remark them to 3.2.

The offshore plates (whether S355G10+M or G8+M) are all from Dillinger and are rolled at either the main rolling mill in Dillingen, Germany, or at Dunkirk in France. As with all Dillinger plates one of the key attractions to engineers working to strict tolerances are the very low sulphur and phosphorous levels. This and the huge Dillinger rolling mills means that our offshore plate has an excellent microstructure – giving a very reliable steel plate. That reliability improve production efficiency and directly translates into improved safety and reliability throughout the structures lifecycle.

All the offshore plates are TMCP – thermomechanically rolled – reducing the alloying content and thus giving a much improved CEV of 0.34-0.35 (compared to the 0.41-43 of EN10025-2 steels). Plates are Charpy V-notch tested to -40 and -50. We have a number of plates that are specifically certified to Norsok MDS Y20

S355 G10 + M and S355 G8+M Offshore Steel Plates

These plates are available from 8 – 150 mm and like our structural steel we aim to have reliable stock levels at both the the thinner and thicker end of the range. What that means for your project is that we will normally be able meet most stock requirements wherever they fall within that range. We don’t just stock 1 plate of a thickness!

We stock enough to ensure that you get your job delivered on time with no messing around. There are a number of G7 and G9 plates available as well as S355 ML plates though we normally find that most customers who require G7 find the G8 or G10 plates acceptable. As with all steel plates that we sell the key tests are included on the MTC however we an easily undertake additional testing to your exact requirements

All S355G8+M and S355G10+M plates are delivered with Z35 testing ex-mill when required by EN10225

S355G7+M and S355G9+M are also available as are the Normalised versions – S355G10+N, S355G9+N, S355G8+N and S355G7+N

S420 G2 + M and S460 G2 +M Offshore Steel Plates

For the higher yield plates we again stock up to 100 mm thick with a full range of dimensions available and also have a number of plates certified to S460 ML. The S420 is only available from 40mm upwards, so for the thinner plates we offer S460 G2 +M.

API 2W50 Offshore Steel Plates

There is also a full range of API 2W50 plates (to the API 2W standard). These are to a Dillinger Hutte modified version of the standard to provide additional support.
