The chemical and physical properties of A387 allow it to resist high pressures at high temperatures making it an ideal material for boilers and process and pressure vessels in the
oil and gas industries.
We’ve listed the specification requirements here laid out in an easy to read format with the mechanical properties of A387 first followed by its chemical properties. Where in doubt you should refer to the original specification which you can find at www.astm.org
We don't stock Class 1 material for A387. Where customers require Class 1 an examination of the mechanical properties of the different classes usually means that Class 2 material is an acceptable alternative.
ASTM A387 Class 1 characteristics are shown for comparison purposes.
